Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This policy explains how VelaHop VPN handles information when you use our Android application. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
1. Information used to provide the VPN
When you approve Android's VPN connection request and connect, the app uses Android VpnService to route network traffic through the selected VPN or proxy endpoint. Establishing and operating that connection involves your source IP address, connection timing, destination addresses and traffic needed to deliver your requests. VPN and network infrastructure providers process this information as part of carrying your connection.
The app displays connection status, server availability, latency and traffic statistics. These are used to operate the connection and show its current state, rather than to create an advertising profile.
2. Information stored on your device
The app stores preferences, selected server information, connection settings and identifiers used to manage a session. Depending on the connection configuration, a session identifier can be derived from Android's app-scoped device identifier and stored locally; a connection provider may receive a session identifier as part of connection authentication.
The VPN engine can write diagnostic and error logs to app storage. These may contain technical connection details. The full version integrates Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. When configured and enabled, these services process app interactions, device and app information, and crash diagnostics. If you send logs to support, review them first and avoid including passwords or other sensitive information.
3. Accounts, advertising and permissions
No manual account registration is required. The app can sign in to our service using an app-scoped device identifier and store an authentication token. Our service receives technical metadata such as app version, Android version, device brand, IP-derived country and city, selected node, connection duration, traffic totals, latency and connection errors. The full version integrates Google AdMob for advertising and Google User Messaging Platform for applicable consent choices. Advertising services may process identifiers, IP address, device information and ad interactions. When configured, the Facebook SDK processes app events and advertising revenue events for measurement. It does not ask for precise GPS location, contacts, camera or microphone access for its VPN features.
Network access is needed to establish the connection and check connectivity. Android VPN approval allows the app to manage the tunnel. Notification permission is used for connection and app status messages. You can manage permissions in Android Settings.
4. Service providers and other websites
IP lookup uses ipinfo.io to obtain approximate location information from an IP address. Google and Meta process information under their own policies: Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy. Network-traffic contents are not included in the app's connection statistics reports.
Your mobile carrier or internet provider, the selected connection provider, and websites or services you visit have their own data handling practices. A VPN does not make your activity invisible to every party or replace the privacy protections of the services you use. This policy does not promise that infrastructure providers keep no connection logs.
If you install the app through an app store, that store processes installation and account information under its own policy. Android backup or device transfer may include app data when enabled in your device settings.
5. Retention and deletion
Local preferences and diagnostic files can remain until they are overwritten or you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Cloud backups and transferred copies are managed through your device or backup provider. Disconnecting stops the VPN tunnel but does not automatically erase saved preferences or existing logs.
For service records or information supplied to support, you can request access, correction or deletion by email. Include only the details needed to identify your request. Information may need to be retained to resolve an ongoing request or meet applicable legal obligations. Contact us for details about connection-provider retention; clearing local app data does not delete records held by independent providers.
6. Security and your choices
No network service can guarantee complete anonymity or protection against every threat. Use HTTPS where available, keep Android updated, and do not share sensitive connection credentials. You can disconnect in the app, revoke VPN access in Android Settings, or uninstall the application.
7. Children
VelaHop VPN is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has supplied personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and handle the request.
8. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the app's data practices change and provide additional notices or obtain consent where required. When available, use Privacy choices in Settings to review or change advertising consent.
